I've got the exact same model of Boxer and like yours 5th gear crunches. Our get around it is to double clutch 5th gear and that seems to avoid or lessen the crunching considerably to the point where it cant be heard. Our van has 140K on the clock and has been crunching in 5th since before 120K so its not gotten any worse in 20K miles by double clutching...........I'd also say that cleaning and greasing the gear linkage on top of the gear box is a must as this area is prone to getting lots of crap on it which can only make gear changes worse if left unattended to........

There is no way they can not declare the van a write off. So at least you should get some money back. Just a shame all the work you and Andy put into it.

To be fair, Josh, when you bought it it shouldn't of passed the MOT it came with. It's always been a bag of crap. You were sold a lemon. Get a vehicle inspected by a mechanic before you buy, the AA and RAC provide such a service.

We are having the same problem but worse in our Peugeot boxer, can’t get into 2nd gear and reverse. Did you find a solution?

Your a gifted drone pilot mate, great footage and an artistic eye. Andy is right by the way, shore fishing around Cornwall been in the decline for the last few decades. Not sure if it’s just over fishing or a combination of pollution, climate change etc. Glad Noah now out of danger.

Andy's right as we used to stay in a cottage at Heal Bay mum dad & I and my sister was married to Trevor and boy was he keen on fishing they would tow there caravan down but he loved Ilfracombe for it's harbour wall and in 1974 he would cast out and about 2 minutes he would shout out got one but my dad & mum were more keen on pitch & put so my sister would sit in the car with a flask of tea but Trevor wouldn't even know we had gone but he would gut them for our fish meal in the evening another time after Win & Trevor had two sons about 12 years later they all came to Lymington where I had a 14 ft boat so I took them all out fishing all day and never got a bite so Trevor said hey look a pier where's that ? Yarmouth I said !! Well what about all night fishing boys we can catch the ferry so back we went to go to get the ferry and it's the worst night in my memory the tide went out so the only thing Trevor caught was the ferry back as me and the boys we miffed off 😏

You're wasting your time with that van, it's a bag of rusty crap. All that work you've done is a complete waste of time. All you've done is seal the rust in under the blacking.

My first camper was like that. It took weeks with wire brushes. I then used a huge amount of rust converter followed by a ton of bilt-hamber dynex UB. A lot of work and a couple of hundred quid, but it put years on the life. You might also want to remove the chassis blanks and use something like Dynax S50 inside the chassis members. This should stop any further corrosion from the inside. Good luck!

you look like a chimney sweep LOL get some used old motor oil and get an old tree sprayer and spray the under carriage all over and drill little holes where the doors close and spray inside the fenders and doors and buy some rubber or plastic caps to plug the drill holes when done it will never rust again

Hi Josh I wonder if the school bus driver to the youngsters down on Woolacombe sands as I remember you could drive along the beach only that rust must have been caused by salt damage Needed spraying of underneath after. Each winter People down at Milford on sea love driving down to watch a storm but then drive through the salt water in the car park to leave some idiots have brand new vehicles what you and dad are doing reminds me of my fiat camper but I made a mistake if selling it to a work mate and never heard the end of it 😏

You and dad have really done a great job on the campervan Josh 👏using what’s available & recycling! Tim and I both said it actually looks better in real life than camera.. if you get what we mean . You’ve fitted everything in for you all and use of space is well executed 😊🦅

Hi Josh, little tip when cutting ply, put some masking tape where the cut line is, then mark on the tape your cut line. You get a far cleaner cut.
